Alle systematische acties die nodig zijn om
vertrouwen te verschaffen dat het doel
(systeem, proces, organisatie, programma,
project, eindresultaat, benefit, bekwaamheid,
product) geschikt is. Geschiktheid kan onder
verschillende omstandigheden subjectief of
objectief worden gedefinieerd. Het gevolg is dat
borging een zekere mate van onafhankelijkheid
nodig heeft ten opzichte van dat wat wordt
