- limbic system
Limbic system is the second oldest part of the
brain to develop, according to researcher Dr. Paul
MacLean, who proposed the classic triune brain
theory. This section of the human brain acknowledges
rewards and punishments. It also controls the
autonomic nervous system and houses emotions.
