The ability of an organization to gain knowledge from experience through
experimentation, observation, analysis and a willingness to examine both successes and failures,
and to then use that knowledge to do things differently. While organizational learning cannot happen without individual
learning, individual learning does not necessarily produce organizational learning. Organizational learning occurs
when an organization becomes collectively more knowledgeable and skillful in pursuing a set of goals.

The ability of the organization as a whole to capture knowledge and experience
from past projects and apply that to future projects. A relatively new
management concept designed to improve the overall performance and
responsiveness of an enterprise and avoid the loss of this information when
individual personnel leave the enterprise's employment.
