Structural capital is part of Intellectual Capital and includes all of the enterprise’s intellectual property and intellectual property rights. It includes factors such as technology, practices, organizational structure, patents, copyrights, and so on. It includes an organization’s “captured knowledge” such as best practices, processes, information systems, databases etc. Often described as the knowledge that remains in the organization “after the employees have gone home for the night”.
