De EBITA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) is een maatstaf voor de brutowinst na aftrek van overheadkosten van een bedrijf. De Nederlandse vertaling is verdiensten voor aftrek van interest, belastingen, afschrijvingen op activa en afschrijvingen op leningen en goodwill, dit is ook de letterlijke inhoud van het begrip (ook wel bedrijfskasstroom genoemd). Het wordt gebruikt als maatstaf voor de winst die een onderneming haalt met haar operationele activiteiten zonder dat hier kosten en opbrengsten van de financiering in verwerkt zitten.

An accounting measure that is a snapshot of a company's financial standing. EBITA is the company's financial picture with regard to earnings. However, what is missing from the concept of earnings, and the EBITA snapshot, is the cost and depletion of "free" natural resources that are part of production processes and consumption behaviors. If these were included to balance sheet equations, earnings snapshots like EBITA would look very different, as would the market prices of goods and services to consumers.
